Physical is delighted to announce the return of Lloyd Salmon to its sales team, as the company continues its strong growth trajectory and looks to consolidate its position in London and the south-east.
Salmon brings with him over 25 years’ fitness industry experience – including eight years at Physical, from 2013 to 2021.
“When Lloyd first joined us, it was as Total Gym salesman – a product we previously distributed,” said John Halls, managing director at Physical. “At that point, Physical was a catalogue-only business and Lloyd always had a copy of the catalogue with him. Increasingly, he found it was Physical he was discussing with the gyms he visited.
“This fuelled developments that were already taking place within the company, moving away from catalogue-only to develop a field sales team. It was with Lloyd that we began to proactively reach out to the larger operators – and successfully so, winning contracts with the likes of GLL, Village Hotels, énergie Fitness and Freedom Leisure. In the process, Lloyd became our key accounts manager, developing and looking after all our big accounts.”
Leaving Physical when his customers’ gyms remained shuttered through COVID, Salmon continued in adjacent sectors – sanitising products during the pandemic followed by artificial turf – but now returns to Physical as regional account manager for London and the south-east.
“In spite of London and the south-east being our largest territory in the UK, we see huge potential to further develop and support this region, building new relationships and extending existing partnerships,” said Halls.
“With Physical already growing 15 per cent year-on-year, this is a very exciting time to bring Lloyd back onboard as part of our growing team.”
Salmon added: “I loved my time at Physical and it’s great to be returning at such a dynamic point in the company’s journey. The business has evolved enormously, but the values and the relationships remain the same. I’m really looking forward to getting started again and to building on the strong partnerships we already have across London and the south-east.”
