Project scope
Physical Company worked with KOBOX , the London based boutique boxing studio, to assist the kit-out install ahead of launch. This case study looks at how Physical Company became the one-stop shop for all of the functional training kit as well as advising, sourcing and customising fit-for-purpose flooring.
Mission
Shane Collins, Founder of London KOBOX boutique boxing studios, had a vision to combine high intensity boxing-based classes with functional strength training in a ‘Fight Cub meets Nightclub’ environment. Taking real life authentic boxing training principles and making it accessible to the group fitness community.
Strategy
The strategy of the studio space was created by Shane who drew upon his background in work as a strength and conditioning coach to professional boxers. Having visited Physical Company to enquire about HD resistance bands, Shane left having sourced all of his functional equipment and flooring. This project required a fast turnaround and customised advice to ensure the equipment could endure the impact of KOBOX workouts whilst also being quick to clean and easy to keep in good condition.
The results

The result is a visually impressive, bespoke, multi-functional space that looks and feels as professional as the training ethic delivered within it but also as inviting and engaging as the cool and sophisticated ‘night club’ atmosphere the team were wanting to portray. The site fully represents everything Shane had envisioned for KOBOX and members are met with a high energy, but highly enjoyable workout atmosphere.
